Submitting a CLIR Grant Application for Digitizing Special Collections on Microfilm?

The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is awarding grants to digitize hidden special collections and archives. Do you have a collection of information on physical microfilm that you’d like to digitize? If so, we encourage you to partner with BMI and submit Digital ReeL as part of your digitizing microfilm CLIR grant submission.

Digital ReeL Video Overview

Digitizing microfilm has never been easier or more affordable than it is today with Digital ReeL. We work with libraries across the United States that regularly leverage grants similar in spirit to the CLIR grant available now.

Our solution digitizes your microfilm or microfiche at our California (Silicon Valley) microfilm conversion facility. We include an easy-to-use app that enables your staff and patrons to scroll digital microfilm rolls or microfiche sheets from a computer. Full text search is included to make it easy to locate articles, records and other historical documents with key words, numbers and phrases. Our unique adjustable grayscale feature converts grainy and difficult to read images into real photos.
