Supervisor of Elections converts voter registration card records from 247 microfilm rolls to Digital ReeL; users retrieve information from the Digital ReeL software interface

Sunnyvale, California — November 30, 2009 — BMI Imaging Systems, a leading provider of document scanning, microfilm conversion and document management solutions, today announced that the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections has selected BMI Imaging’s Digital ReeL as its microfilm conversion solution. Digital ReeL is a microfilm, microfiche and aperture card conversion solution that includes an easy-to- use software application that replicates the look of a reader printer.

Palm Beach County recently shipped its 247 microfilm rolls to BMI’s Sunnyvale, California microfilm conversion facility. A hard drive storing the converted images and the Digital ReeL software application were shipped to Palm Beach County following the three-week microfilm conversion process.

During the Digital ReeL microfilm conversion process, each Palm Beach County microfilm roll was digitally converted, maintaining the archival context of the original microfilm roll. With the help of BMI Technical Support, Palm Beach was able to install Digital ReeL on their workstation for search and retrieval of the digital microfilm rolls.

Digital ReeL includes a unique adjustable grayscale feature that enables users to optimize the quality of each record by adjusting the brightness and quality of the image. Users can then print, email and save the optimized records.
