BMI to demonstrate records management solutions that help California state agencies become more efficient by reducing paper and microfilm; document management, workflow and two unique microfilm scanning solutions, Digital ReeL and ScanPro, to be demonstrated

Sunnyvale, California – April 21, 2014 – BMI Imaging Systems, a leading provider of document management solutions for California government agencies, announced today that it will be attending the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) May Spring Conference and Exhibition in Monterey.

ACWA is the largest statewide coalition of public water agencies in the country. Its nearly 440 California public agency members collectively are responsible for 90% of the water delivered to cities, farms and businesses in California. ACWA’s mission is to assist its members in promoting the development, management and reasonable beneficial use of good quality water at the lowest practical cost in an environmentally balanced manner.

City infrastructure drawings, maps of wells, aerial photos and as-built work orders are records that public water agencies commonly archive on paper and microfilm format. BMI Imaging will be demonstrating document management and microfilm scanning solutions that help ACWA agency members become more efficient with back-office records management tasks so they can focus more agency resources on mission-critical activities.

BMI will also be demonstrating two of its unique microfilm scanning solutions, Digital ReeL and the ScanPro 3000. Digital ReeL is a proven microfilm scanning solution for California government. The solution includes the conversion of microfilm and microfiche to digital replicas and then includes an easy online viewer that emulates a reader. Full-text search and adjustable grayscale image enhancement make it easy to locate and improve the quality of needed records. ScanPro is a physical microfilm scanner that makes it easy for an agency to scan their own microfilm, allowing users to create high-quality archival digital images from all forms of microfilm.

BMI Imaging regularly works with all types of California government agencies, including water utilities, county recorders, building departments, law enforcement, school districts and universities.
