That was the situation we faced when we were brought into a high-stakes legal case involving three different law firms: a defense firm, a prosecution firm, and a third intermediary firm managing communication.
What started as a routine large-scale digitization project turned into an all-out sprint driven by court deadlines and legal urgency.
The original task was to scan a targeted batch of 100,000 fiche. However, it quickly became clear that the needed fiche were spread throughout the full 300,000-sheet archive, making selective scanning too complicated and inefficient. The most practical solution was to scan the entire collection and digitally segregate the records by legal side.
With that decision, the project tripled in scope overnight and the stakes grew even higher when the judge set a hard 60-day deadline for completion. The project that was mapped out as a standard-paced 8-month job suddenly morphed into a 60-day expedited project.
